The Mundane World
Harry Styles was a boy living in the small town of Holmes Chapel, England. He lived with his mom and sister and worked at a bakery on the weekends and after school. He played in a band (White Eskimo) with his friends but was always wishing for something more with his singing career.
The Call To Adventure
In 2010, when Harry was 16, he auditioned for The X Factor season seven. He auditioned with Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” and went on to continue through more rounds of the show as a single artist. This was finally the chance to become a singer as he dreamed of.
Crossing The Threshold
Things looked dim for Harry’s future when he was cut after singing “Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis a few rounds after his audition. Then, he and four other boys that had also been eliminated as single artists, were called back by the judges. They were offered a chance to continue on The X Factor if they were to form a group. After getting to know each other and forming the band One Direction they soon thrived as a group and were very popular, gaining lots of fans quickly.
The Path of Trials
Harry Styles and his band mates, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan were growing quickly and so was their friendship. All of them grew close and Harry and Louis were soon best friends.
After singing “Torn” by Natalie Imbruglis the judges saw that they would go far. Simon Cowell, one of the judges, signed them to Syco Entertainment. He mentored them throughout the show. They also improved their singing skills with singing lessons with the song-writer of their hit single “What Makes You Beautiful”.
Harry and the rest of One Direction had a lot of talented competitors to win against, and they managed to make it far in the show. They came in third place in the finale. Many people thought they would win by far, and were stunned when they didn’t. Harry remained hopeful after losing and we were assured by the boys that we would be seeing more of One Direction.
Master of Two Worlds
Harry Styles now gets to spend time at home with his family and friends, and also gets to travel the world with his four best friends. After the show ended, Harry and the other band members managed to sky rocket to the top of the charts, break records, and go on two world tours so far. We definitely saw more of Harry like we were promised.
